Kara Crawford's AIDS Walk Atlanta Page
I'm raising awareness and money for the 27th annual AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run because I want to “Pack the Park with HOPE” on Sunday, October 22nd! With your support, we can make a difference for those infected with, or affected by, HIV/AIDS right here in Atlanta.
Thank you for supporting me with your donation! 100% of your donation will go to Living Room, an organization working to provide housing to HIV-positive people who are experiencing homelessness here in the metro Atlanta area. Here are some facts about where your money goes:
- $35 will provide emergency lodging for one person for a night.
- $210 can provide emergency lodging for a week to a family.
- $1026 is the average cost of housing for a month.
My fundraising goal is $1026 to be able to help fund housing for a month for one of our neighbors in the metro Atlanta area. Stable housing vastly improves the ability of people with HIV to seek medical care and offers them the stability they need to consistently take their medication and check in with their doctors. Of the people provided emergency lodging by Living Room, 77% are in stable housing only 6 months later. When people receive housing assistance, they are 96% more likely to have consistent medical care and get healthier. (statistics courtesy of Living Room)
There is no doubt your donation makes an impact. Thank you for your support! With your help, we can end homelessness among people living with HIV/AIDS!
