Grace UMC & Global Ministries in Mission
In recognition of and respect for the rich history and complexity of our new home and our church home in the Old 4th Ward, Global Ministries is dedicated to exploring ways to truly become part of this community through partnership with existing institutions and learning about the strengths and challenges faced by the community at large.
In our efforts to build relationships and support this community, Grace United Methodist Church has invited us to learn and dig deeper to engage this neighborhood and community. We have also learned that Atlanta has the nation’s fifth largest community of people living with HIV & AIDS, and that this disproportionately impacts our neighbors of the Old 4th Ward.
In a effort to combat this pandemic we are raising awareness and money for the 27th annual AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run because We want to “Pack the Park with HOPE” on Sunday, October 22nd! With your support, we can make a difference for those infected with, or affected by, HIV/AIDS right here in Atlanta.
Thank you for supporting this mission with your donation and particapation!
Did you know that in the U.S., 1 in 5 persons infected with HIV is unaware of their status? (Info: Kaiser Family Foundation)
Talking openly about HIV can reduce the stigma that keeps too many from seeking the testing, prevention and treatment services, and support they need. Do you know YOUR status? (Info: CDC)
